Templates are used to execute legally binding agreements. We strongly recommend you work with your law firm to ensure that any template you use is appropriate for a specific equity transaction or set of transactions.

Navigate to Company Settings > Legal Templates and click New. Fill out the form with the necessary information, upload the template file in .docx and click Create Template.

The template generator will read any strings in the document formatted with double curly brackets. For example, make sure the investor name field is written as {{investor_name}}. This information will be populated when using the template generator.

Edit the fields of your Word document (.docx format) that you want to populate to be strings within double curly braces. The template generator will automatically recognize those strings and add them to the Template Fields table.

For example:

This document is executed on {{effective_date}} by {{founder_name}}.

The language above would result in two fields being added to the Template Fields table: “Effective Date” and “Founder Name.” You would then be able to fill in those fields when using the template.

What default document templates are available?

We strongly recommend consulting with your legal advisors before using any template for an agreement related to your equity.
