Getting Started

What does the investment process look like?

The process is designed to be completed within minutes using e-signatures and multiple funding options.

Below are step-by-step guides of what you will see:

Funding Your Investment

Can I invest through an entity?

Yes, however, an entity too must meet accreditation requirements and complete KYC checks. In addition, the entity should not be formed for the sole purpose of investing in the RUV.

Can I invest through my IRA?

Yes. While AngelList isn’t an IRA custodian, we work with many IRA providers to facilitate investments. Here’s a list of supported IRA custodians. Note that a typical IRA investment can take 1-2 weeks to complete. Also, we generally cannot accommodate ERISA or FOIA regulated entities.

Can I invest on behalf of my family?

Yes, each investor account can include multiple investment entities, allowing investments for yourself and for immediate family (spouse/parents), across different legal structures to be managed in a single account.

  • KYC and Accreditation info for each investment entity is required.
  • Due to banking compliance laws, investment funds must only be sent from the respective investment entity’s bank account, or it can be returned.

An investment entity is the legal structure used to make investments, such as an individual, trust, LLC, Corp, LP, or IRA.

How can I fund my commitment in the RUV?

You can fund via Wire transfer (U.S. and international), ACH (U.S. only), or USDC (Ethereum Mainnet).

Where do I find the RUV’s wire instructions?

After completing your e-sign and commitment, you’ll be provided with dedicated wire instructions under the “Transfer Funds” button. You’ll also find these details in the confirmation email sent after completing your commitment.

Can I wire from an international bank?

Yes, as long as the sending entity/individual’s name matches the name on your commitment, and completes & passes the required KYC checks.

When going through the closing flow, you can select “Wire” as the funding method. After completing your e-sign and commitment, you’ll be provided with dedicated wire instructions to fund from a non-U.S. bank account, under the “Transfer Funds” button. You’ll also find these details in the confirmation email sent after completing your commitment.

Please verify all wire details with your bank before sending the transfer. Incomplete or incorrect wire information will result in the wire being returned and may incur fees from intermediary banks.

Banking compliance and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) rules require funds to come from the same entity that made the investment commitment.

Can I fund my commitment with Crypto?

Yes, you invest in an RUV via USDC (via Ethereum Mainnet), subject to certain geographic restrictions in the US and globally.

When going through the closing flow, you can select “Crypto” as the funding method. After completing your e-sign and commitment, you’ll be provided with a dedicated deal wallet to transfer your investment to. Once received, the cryptocurrency will be converted to USD, before transferring to the company. (Detailed guide here)
